Built with a 13 group/16 element lens construction, the Canon 200 mm f/4.0 promises to give superior performance, with minimal aberration.
This Canon “L” lens fits the bill! True that it does not have image stabilization but since a lot of my work involves some means of support, the IS would be turned off anyway. I hold the camera/lens on target waiting for just the right moment to snap the image. The f/4 aperture is wide enough for my uses (nature/bird photography) and it provides a great “blurred background” that makes the subject of the image snap out even more. I like it – it is light enough to have available. After all – what’s the use of a lens that you leave home because it it too heavy – this one is just right!
