I bought this white 3-shelf unit to store shoes, added bonus that all 6 levels can be used for shoes, even boots on top shelf. I like the clean, minimalist design. I am 60 years old, and, adding in the time I took to be sure all the pieces were in the package, it only took about 1 1/2 hours to put it together. One only needs a small and large Phillip’s head screwdriver, a small/medium straight screwdriver, and a hammer to assemble the unit (The hammer is only used to tap the side sections into the shelves.) An Allen wrench is included to tighten down the 12 bolts used for the 12 "legs". This unit is quite sturdy sitting on a tile floor, but I chose to use the included small L-bracket to secure the unit to the wall. The unit holds 24 to 30 pairs of shoes sitting side by side, but, as in most homes, there is enough space to stack every-day/play shoes on top of each other, so 50 pairs of shoes could easily be put on these shelves. These shelves are press board, but heavy-duty bolts, cam locks, screws, and pegs are used to assemble the pieces, and the divider legs and bottom legs are hollow metal tubes. The instructions state "no power tools" and suggest about 30 lbs. total weight on the 3 main shelves.
