Good – Cannot say enough good things about this lens – 100-400L puts out amazing photos. The AF is super fast as long as you use the short mode. This is to be expected when zooming to 400 though. I tend to use the 3 meter mode for all the closer stuff and change over to Full when going after something far away. DoF is great and you can really tell the 3 modes of IS make a difference. Focal Point / Sweet Spot was fairly easy to find. Feels like I am ready to go to battle with this very solidly built lens. I recommended this L Series lens to anyone that wants clear shots at long ranges. Bad – Price point is a little sticky. For this money it would have been nice to see an FStop a little lower but photos are still amazingly sharp. Although I am an amateur I would still recommend this Product if you know you are going to stay in the game and can handle it financially. Very weighty lens. Difficult to keep steady but not impossible due to shear size. Most of my shots are hand-held and I do ok. Best sure sure to take off IS if on a tripod.
