I think the first question you should ask yourself is how important is having the extra screen for your other devices. If you’re a big fan of dual screening, and that’s your primary reason for getting this – consider buying a devoted, external screen instead of this. A devoted, external screen would be larger in screen size without adding substantially to the weight, and cost less, too.
Big, bulky, and oversized – more so than I ever imagined and I’m not a small guy. The rounded battery compartment does create a nice hand grip – but you’ll need it, too. As for the stand, it’s mostly fine. There is one little issue when hanging it up by that stand the tablet hangs at a slight downward angle – so the idea of hanging it up isn’t quite as nifty as you might imagine unless you’re hanging it slightly higher than your head are looking up at it.
I haven’t bought a case for it, not yet. I keep looking at the few I can find and shy away. Partly because I’m not interested in adding to its weight. Also, I’m not sure I care for the design of the few cases I can find.
I can’t find on Lenovo’s website which stylus is approved for use with this giant tablet. I wish they would specify. I’ve seen a couple off-site reviews that have mentioned on stylus or another, but I would hate to spend the additional money for a stylus that’s not supported.
Speaking of "not supported," you’re limited to the onboard storage. I tried attaching a USB C thumb drive, but it wasn’t recognized. I also tried my powered USB hub with multiple ports in hopes that it might recognize extra storage that way – no luck. I could transfer files just fine using the USB port between my laptop and this tablet.
This tablet was a replacement for my aging tablet from competitor with a 9.7" screen. I missed the larger screen I had on 2014 edition from that same competitor that had a 12.2" screen. That older tablet was unwieldy, too, but without the large battery bump of this Lenovo.
Cons:
* Lack of expandable storage
* Hangs at a downward angle when hanging from its built in holder
* Lack of case options
* No stylus officially recommended by Lenovo
* Difficult to find/use buttons
Yes, the screen is pretty to look at. The battery life is good, although not overwhelmingly impressive. It has nice sound for a tablet. I think Lenovo hit all the elements they wanted to hit – but it feels more like a novelty or a gimmick.
