Very light, not a winter coat

The wool is lovely, and the cut is very nice, but I purchased this thinking it could be a winter coat, a decision supported by LL Bean’s note that with light activity it would support going down to 0 degrees. It has no lining. In Maine, where I live, this would suffice only for about 2 months in autumn. Further, it’s so lovely, I would never wear it for hikes or anything I would need to do to generate the kind of activity to survive at 0 degrees wearing a thin wool coat. I still rank this four stars because if you live in a mild climate, or you just want something for a small part of the year, it’s a beautiful coat and beautiful wool.
