The last watch I had bought from Samsung was an Active 2 which I had returned. I use a lot of google apps as they cross over to my computer and I like keeping it all sync’d. This watch offers that! WearOS was enough of a reason for me to go back to samsung watches. Although it’s what I wanted, it’s almost everything I wanted.
The battery life isn’t the best and the included strap gave me a skin reaction, and it’s quite bulky as well. The fit however, once I replaced the strap the 44mm fits my wrist perfectly. It’s sleek and more minimalistic which I prefer over the Classic. Features are there but there is one I wish came with the watch – Google Assistant. While there are rumors that it will come, I’m keeping my hopes up on that.
Pros:
+Sleek and simple design that’s very modern without being overly flashy
+Size of the watch itself, strap aside, contours perfectly around my wrist.
+Google Pay and other Google app support, as well the playstore.
+EKG is very accurate
+Seamless connection to my phone makes it feel like an extension, rather than a random addition.
Cons:
-No google assistant
-Battery isn’t amazing but a lot better than previous models.
-Default straps get caught on the watch body and don’t curve very well around the wrist if you have a smaller wrist.
-44mm doesn’t come in pink, not much of a con but it was for me.
-Blood Pressure reading is not available in the U.S
-And for me, one of the biggest downsides, no native support for 24 hour clock standard. While most people in the U.S and Canada use the 12 hour standard, I prefer -24 hour and there’s no option to change this aside from downloading a 3rd party watch face.
-Can’t remap the Samsung Pay button command to google pay.
Overall, it’s a great watch going in the right direction. It offers a lot of features and customization and I’d love to give it a 4 star rating but no google assistant and no 24 hour native support is a huge downside for me. But overall performance, the watch is very quick, very snappy, and doesn’t feel like things need to ‘load’ or laggy.
