Available nationwide now, new features of Wendy’s new Spicy Chicken Sandwich include a new “bold” marinade, a panko-style breading infused with a 9-spice blend for more heat, a buttery potato bun that’s softer and sweeter than the previous bun, a richer “homestyle” mayo “inspired by classic Southern recipes, and the addition of pickles for “extra crunch and balance.” The sandwich is also served with shredded lettuce and tomato.

The Classic Chicken Sandwich has received the same changes, minus the heat.

The mayo change affects other sandwiches on the menu, and the bun change spans Wendy’s entire premium sandwich lineup.
